8th of November

On the 8th of November,
The angels were cryin’
As they carried his brothers away
With the fire rainin’ down
And the Hell all around
There were few men left standin’ that day
Saw the eagle fly,
Through a clear, blue sky
1965, the 8th of November

I will think of it on “my” day which wasn’t the 8th of November, but the 24th of April–sadly, only 2 years ago.

  3. For those of you that don’t like country, Big and Rich are awesome cross-over artists. I love their songs and especially this one!!

  6. Attended the Big n Rich concert last night. Another Skysoldier and I were privileged to carry the American Flag onstage for this song. I was on Hill 65 and thank Kenny and John for what they have done for the 173d Airborne Brigade. They will soon be do a benefit concert for the Brigade Memorial to be erected at Ft. Benning, GA

  7. I love this song, but I’ve never seen the video. Seeing the ID card pictures took me waaaaaaaaay back. I remember having to fill out those placards with Last, First, MI and holding it under your face for the pictures. Man.

Thanks for posting this. I’ve been meaning to, but never got around to it.

  8. The track after 8th of November on the “Comin’ To Your City” CD is called Our America” and is probably one of the best versions of The Star-Spangled Banner I’ve ever heard.
