Statement by Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis

The United States and our allies have the demonstrated capabilities and unquestionable commitment to defend ourselves from an attack. Kim Jong Un should take heed of the United Nations Security Council’s unified voice, and statements from governments the world over, who agree the DPRK poses a threat to global security and stability. The DPRK must choose to stop isolating itself and stand down its pursuit of nuclear weapons. The DPRK should cease any consideration of actions that would lead to the end of its regime and the destruction of its people.

President Trump was informed of the growing threat last December and on taking office his first orders to me emphasized the readiness of our ballistic missile defense and nuclear deterrent forces. While our State Department is making every effort to resolve this global threat through diplomatic means, it must be noted that the combined allied militaries now possess the most precise, rehearsed and robust defensive and offensive capabilities on Earth. The DPRK regime’s actions will continue to be grossly overmatched by ours and would lose any arms race or conflict it initiates.

  1. CJ .. Off the subject here, I read your old Wall of Shame scammer article. Thank you for that. The scams also happen to men. I’m currently getting a supposed single female active duty soldier in Afghanistan. Have the photos if you want them. There’s the typical mistakes; bad English, husband dead, 5 yo child. not allowed to make a live video call or phone call.
………..Just wanted to check with you. She (he) claims to be there in combat patrol. I know women were approved for combat 2 years ago, but at that time no women passed the tests. ARE ANY WOMEN IN COMBAT?
The scam is; she claims to have $ millions from selling oil that she, and some other soldiers, got from a captured enemy. She’s asking to send the cash to me, because she can’t do that in her name. I know there’s no oil in Afghanistan, and that would be millions of pounds of material to sell. She hasn’t asked for any money, but I suppose that’s coming next.
Thanks, Bob. I’m 70 yo. They hit us old guys.

      • Thanks for replying. Sorry to take your time.
This appears to be a real contact. She isn’t asking me for money. I’ve seen a photo of a buried box of money. I can’t figure it out.
Can you tell me: Are there any women in combat patrols? Are soldiers in combat zones, like Afghanistan, forbidden to make phone calls?
        Thanks, Bob

  2. Hi, Is the US army ever sending money (bonuses) to a person the soldier is going to meet? I think it sounds weird. They also need my bank username and password. Of course I dont give them to anyone. Are such requests right?
